Hi all,
In case you're curious what 400UC looks like when pushed 2 stops, check out the color stuff here:

Histograms were ridiculously to the left (to the point where I was guessing if the result would be worthwhile, they were so dark). These were shot at more like 3200 or even 6400, but I wasn't sure if 400UC could handle a 3 or 4 stop push. But bringing levels up has worked okay, but there is quite a bit of noise.

Very interesting, thanks. I've been having good results with this film rated at its normal speed. So just to be clear - your "push" was done in the lab processing, not during the scan, correct?

yes - I had the lab (a pro lab, of course - walgreens won't do this) push the film during processing (which is the definition of pushing) by extending time in developer.

What? Walgreens won't do that? I'm never going there again!
Thanks for posting that ... I'll have to study more later, but it looks promising.

I'm not sure if I'd shoot 400UC at 1600 over, say, Fuji Press 800 at 1600 or even 3200 (do they still make Press 800?), which I have done in the past. It's more that it's my go-to c41 color film, and I had it with me, but not enough light.

Thanks Allan, very interesting. I doubt I'll have the occasion to find a pro colour developer to push C41. How were the black and white shots done? I like this one especially:

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad anytime anyone likes anything of mine
.
That's a medium format shot. TXT @ 6400 or thereabouts (did not meter, just shot at what was roughly appropriate for the setting), Rodinal 1+100 for 3 hours. Was my first attempt at extended stand development, and that roll is the only one of 6 medium format that came out with any semblance of shadow detail.
