I enjoyed it. I do think our 'worst words in photography' thread here was funnier. In the 41 I was amused by the family wedding one where he criticizes the pro, envies him the gig, but had already knocked it back anyway. Nice writing, but no hipster photographer boyfriend would really have wanted that gig, and not with her family.
Apropos of gear coming first, there is an account in the Elliott Erwitt Masters of Contemporary Photography volume where he and his wife are in a plane, on the way to an assignment, in a storm with lightning and the plane buffeted left and right and up and down. She is scared stiff, and he has a permanent frown. He's cross that he hadn't sent the film ahead on an earlier flight.
