I'm looking to find some filters for my 40mm vc Nokton, its got a 43mm filter thread and most camera stores have just looked at me funny when I ask for that size, convinced I've got my number wrong. I cant even find a good online store that has any so far. Where have you guys found yours? I already have a Cokin setup for my SLR, but I dont want to use a filter thats as big as my camera 🙂 and want to keep the amount of gear I lug around to a minimum. I'm mostly looking for a polarizer and maybe a yellow and red filter.

The two CV lenses that take 43mm (Heliar and Nokton) disserve only the best.

B+W, Heliopan or Leitz filters from B+H or Adorama 🙂

Roland.

How about the Cokin A300 filter holder? That's what wotalegend recommended to me that I'm currently looking into:

If you're interested, let me know as I just won a bundle of them off eBay. I don't need that much, but they were selling them together, so I'll have some to get sell.

Otherwise, give Rob Skeoch from bigcameraworkshops.com an email as I know he carries filters for rangefinders.

I gotta say I'm a cheapo. I buy cheap filters... if i had a hood for my 50/2 planar i wouldnt even be using a uv filter.

The ZM 50/2 is a very good lens. Putting a cheap filter on it is not going to help your image quality. A lens like that deserves a B+W MRC filter.

I've used Cokin quite a bit, and while I hadnt seen the A300 holder yet, I still think it would get in the way too much. I use Cokin's on my SLR when I'm doing landscapes, and I have time to carefully set up shop, but my Bessa is my carry with me everywhere camera now, and I couldnt see it easily thrown in a bag with that on the front 🙂 I've looked around and it seems B&H is the way to go for me, I'll have to put in an order.

I just put a hoya mrc filter on it... unless your shooting at f16 all the time i seriously doubt your going to see any real degredation of image quality with the exception of flare.

And when i shoot at night or where it hink there might be flare, i dont use a filter.

I had some pretty good deals on Heliopan with some folks I found on photo.net It appeared they are a store liquidating their inventory. PM me if you want details, I am sure they have plenty left.
