49 euros for a black dot?

Very expensive piece of plastic... but of since you'll be able to shoot much better pictures with a black dot as opposed to a red dot it's actually a bargain!

If a knock off black dot is $60 US then the authentic red dot would be around $100. Finally, the price of a new MP starts to make sense to me.

Now I need to understand why a quarter pound of Nova is $15.

He says it's for all M cameras save the MP. Someone should ask for the recommended location on an M3.

I'm sure he'll tell you where to stick it! ;)

LOL! When I bought my second "Bargain" M6 from KEH (a very late # BTW) it was graded down only because some bozo had blacked out all the white engravings to make it more "discreet" (probably painted his Pocket Protector black too, with Klingon Cloaking Paint he bought at a Trekkie convention). Took me quite an effort, with advice from Don Goldberg, to restore it. The red logo had been painted too, and the kicker, as it relates to this thread, is that Dave Ellwell at Leica said he'd send me a new ret dot for free if I wanted.

I think we already know where to stick it! Soon there will be dots in all possible colors.

It's a bit steep. Many people pay over $100 for the Nike logo so they can run "better".

Ah, the power of the mind...

i saw an early m6 with a black dot and lettering removed at the camera show last month. didn't reduce the price none, lol.

I think in a few years Leicas will become as conventional as Lomo LC-As, and we'll see Leicas dressed up in all kinds of colors.

Chromed Leicas anyone?

a free red dot

a free red dot

You can buy a used, non-working ELECTROfying GSN for $10 or less, take the red dot off of it and glue it onto your dot-less but expensive Leica M. Then you can re-sell the ELECTROfying GSN to get your money back.

I had the red dot on my M6 TTL 0.58 replaced by a black one by DAG for just $15,00. It helps me keep my 0.58 and 0.85 M6's apart. I think it looks nice.
