I don't regret buying the Y44... but I think I actually had more "fun" shooting my Lubitels!
(and as wonderful as efke 100 might be, larger negs on every other film is a real bonus... like being able to shoot ISO 400 and stop down to make up for fiddly dim focusing with DOF).

This is just a toy for me...likely to be used half a dozen times a year. One film will be adequate.

Ok Al,
I bought 1.
I blame it on you...and the ineffectiveness of my impulse control medication...but mostly on you!
Lord help me.....

Why fiddle with a TLR when you can have a fiddly SLR, great lens, crap mechanism.

Congratulations. I guess if you're careful and gentle with it you'll be OK. I was the typical 18 year old when I had mine. It did have a great lens, though.

I will try.
Found a seller with a 90 day guarantee...I figured that was prudent, considering what you and others say about it being delicate.

worst feature of 127 is loading the spiral, from much experience with my Purma: in the dark remove film compleately from the backing paper, then load the spiral from the end of the film where it is wound less tightly.

yeah, I understand (why do you think I have one?)
but part of why *I* thought the Lubitel was more fun was that it was as easy to use, was very light weight and gave very good results. The Y44 is much bigger than you think from the film size and it is also very heavy... the lens does have some very nice charm though.
