4x5 Massive Vignetting Help

What the heck is going on here? All the images I took ended up like this.

Could it be the shutter?

Hmmm. Normal vignetting would show darker on a positive print—yours shows white. And that lens should cover 4x5 easily.
 
I've figured it out, I think.

This is a cobbled together point and shoot camera I'm using. I mounted the lens to a bit of aluminum and forgot to paint the inside of it black.
I'm thinking the light enters and bounces off of that silver donut and blows out the circle of white. The usable image portion is there because the large rear element shades the film from that extraneous light.

Easy enough to check. I'll paint and re-shoot.
 
You could leave it alone and out-Holga the Holgas!

The good news is that what you did salvage looks very good. You may need some kind of gasket-light trap material on one or both sides of the donut.

That's a little too much special effect for me...I'll leave it to the Holgas.

Good thing about 4x5, even when half the negative is crap, you're left with a heck of a lot of information.
