after reading all the "yard sale find" and "garage sale bargain" threads i thought i'd go on a wee mission today... what could i find?
5 dollars... that's it, no tax.
xa2 with flash. replaced the battery's and a little tlc and VOILA!
what a deal!
i found another set-up that has me absolutely drooling and it's a steal... bit more than 5 bucks though so someone PULLLLEASE buy my grd! (see the classifieds)
after that shameless plug we have the 5 buck special everything works like a charm.

Good buy and an amazing bargain. Had the XA2 in the past and really loved the speed of operation, quiet shutter and stealthy appearence. Nice find...

Great bargain at $5!
I picked up an XA2 on echo bay for £0.99 + p&p but having got it the cover was incredibly stiff. Investigation found that the roller had been inserted with axis vertical and not as a roller at all - more like a pin! As a result the spring on which the roller rests is distorted into the camera body.
Any ideas how to fix this?
So I have a 99p XA2 with a sloppy cover, and, it didn't have a flash with it.
I reckon your $5 buy was a better one.
Now what are your photos with it like?
