Last weekend I was in the local flea market. One man was selling a camera. I asked "how much". "It's not working", he said. "OK, how much?" "5 EUR and here is also broken lens together". I bought it. Nice condition Spotmatic F. Well, film rewind knob was missing. The lens looked quite bad mechanically, but glass was clean.

When I came home and opened the back door of the camera the rewind knob was locked in there. 5 min fix. Lens was with broken and jammed filter, it took time to remove it (but I was lucky - lens filter thread was intact). Then I had to re-assemble the lens - aperture did not work, all lens elements were "loose". It took a couple of hours, but here we go... Loaded film... All works just fine. Quite nice camera and the lens is fairly sharp.

Only one problem... Now I am after Super Takumar 50mm f1.4....

Congrats. Nice camera and nice save.

Spotties are great cameras and seem to just go on clicking almost forever. I know I love mine.

Save film cameras!
I love my Spotmatic.
They made my career..
Purchased a Black SP body in mint condition.
No meter function. Price $10.
Use my 50mm Super Takumar f1,4
Enjoy.
