5 Favorite/"Best" Lenses

35/2.8 CJZ Flektogon (Exakta)
75/1.5 CJZ Biotar (Exakta)...

... the latter one is quite some expensive lens but worth the money I assume. The 25/4 CJZ Flektogon (Exakta) would fit into this list also ... :)

Five best I own:
Carl Zeiss 50mm Sonnar 1.5
Nikkor-HC 50mm 2.0 (F mount)
Nikkor-P 105mm 2.5 (F mount)
Leica 50mm Summicron Collapsible
Leica 35nn Summaron 2.8 (goggled)
But then there's the W-Nikkor 35mm 2.5 and the Rollei's Schneider Xenar 3.5... Too tough to choose... then there's the DR I used to have...

current favourites:

rollei 40mm f/2.8 sonnar
ZM 50mm f/1.5 c-sonnar
rollei 40mm f/3.5 tessar (rollei 35)
ZM 35mm f/2 biogon
elmar 9cm f/4

Zeiss 35mm C-Biogon 2.8 ZM
Leica 50mm Summarit 2.5
CV 50mm F2 Heliar
Fujifilm 35mm 1.4

sorry, can't think of 5.

In baby formats, from the lenses I own:

Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 DG-Summilux.
Pentax 77mm f/1.8 SMC-FA Limited.
Voigtlander 12mm f/5.6 Ultra-Wide-Heliar.
Leica 50mm f/2 rigid Summicron (V2, I think).
Nikon 105mm f/2.5 Nikkor-P, F-mount.

(With about a dozen lenses tying for 6th place ;))

My wish list, RF lenses:

1.Contax G 45/2
2.Contax G 21
3.Sumilllux 50/1.4
4.ZM Zeiss Sonnar 50/1.5
5.Sumicron 28/2.8
6.Sumillux 35/1.4 ASPH,FLE

I have a few favorites, but these lenses really stun you with unbelievable results every time.

-Zuiko 42mm/f1.7 (Olympus 35SP) : The best normal lens bar none!
-Zuiko 100mm/f2 : The most amazing SLR lens I have ever seen
-Nikkor 180mm/f2.8 AiS : The sharpest and smoothest Nikon lens I have ever seen
-Zuiko 50mm/f1.4 (1.1m+ serial) : Best fast 50 I have used to date by far
-Yashica ML 50mm/f1.9 : There is just something magical about the look this lens produces

Oh, making a list of five is hard and it will consist of slr-lenses since that is what I've been shooting with.

1. Pentax DA* 55mm F1.4 - Almost glued to one of my K-5's, works well in all lighting and all weather!

2. Pentax DA* 300mm F4 - My wildlife/sports lens that probably optically the most impressive in my toolbox. Been rained on, been dipped in clay and been frozen, but never complained.

3. Pentax DA 70mm F2.4 - Small but still a pretty fast tele. Blazing AF and wonderful optics with amazing flare resistance. Sadly the 55mm is taking time from it.

4. Sigma 20mm F1.8 - Optically decent, at best, but fun to use.

5. Pentax Q 01 Prime 8.5mm F1.9 - A small wonder that brings out the best in the tiny camera. Would be ranked higher if it wasn't for the brutal flare resistance.

Olympus Zuiko 50mm f2 Macro
Voigtlander APO-Lanthar 125mm f2.5 SL
Zeiss C-Biogon 21mm f4.5
Leica 35mm Summicron ASPH (current)
Zeiss 100mm f2 Makro-Planar

1) Leica Summarit 40mm 2.4 on Leica Minilux
2) Leica Summicron-M 50mm v.4 (tabbed)
3) Yashica ML 50mm 1.9
4) Nikkor 105mm 1.8 AI-S
5) Konica Hexanon AR 28mm 3.5 (early 7/7 version)

Nikon 24/2.8 AiS
Nikon 28/2.8 AiS
Nikon 35/2 AiS
Nikon 35mm F2.8 on Nikon 35ti
Hexar 35/2 on Konica Hexar Silver

The 28/2.8 AiS blows the doors off the 24/2.8 AiS and the 35/2 AiS. In my opinion. All three lenses are useful but the 28 is brilliant.

Five lenses I won't sell
...

Never say never, after all they are only inanimate objects that were mass produced. I never planned to get rid of the lenses I listed in 2009 (back on page 2 - post #40) so in 2011, someone stole all of them. Now I get to pick 5 more that I find to be the best, and they will all be different lenses, since I never like to repeat myself.

1. 35mm f/2 AF D Nikkor, it's great on FX and DX as a normal lens.
2. 50mm f/3.5 Zuiko macro. Pictures made with this lens look good.
3. 105mm f/2 AF D DC Nikkor. Best bokey ever, and sharp!
4. 17-35mm f/2.8 D AFS Nikkor. Wow is all I can say.
5. Lytro Lens. It focuses so close that the subject can touch the lens. But with this camera you can't tell where the lens ends and the camera begins. In fact there are 11 million micro lenses inside the camera! So I guess this list is actually my best 11,000,004 lenses.

ps, I am getting two more lenses in the mail tomorrow, so I might need to re-evaluate this list soon.

1. CV Ultron 35/1.7
2. Nikkor-S 35/2.8
3. Canon EF 35/2
4. Mamiya Sekor CS 21/2.8
5. Pen Zuiko 100/3.5
