Ok - now that the weather is cold, the clicking on the 50/2.4 Hexanon collapsible when focusing is driving me a little nuts. It's a known, ahem, feature of this lens. Maybe it's designed to give a little to avoid damage if the front of the lens tube gets hit, but it's still weird.

It's a side-to-side movement of the focusing ring in the mount, so it's doesn't hurt the pictures, but it is sometimes "clicky," depending on the ambient temperature (for us 16º F / -9º C) and I would like make sure this is not some kind of degenerative condition. Never heard of one of these falling apart, but I also don't want to be a trailblazer there. Of course, at 20 years old now, this probably merits a CLA anyway.

Has anyone successfully had this fixed? It's worth some money to me to eliminate the slight annoyance, given the awesomeness of the optical performance.

I was going to target finding such a lens for purchase, Dante, but I am still without a 50/2.4. This sounds like an aging lens with Arthritis.
