Hello all! Before I go into this issue- I’d like to state that I’m a novice and in some cases advanced when it comes to camera repairs, mechanically incline and understand how the inners of cameras work. I am not super versed on the 500C so this post is looking for some direction on where to proceed further is resolving the issue.
So with this 500c the lens is fine, the back is fine. The body however has a stuck winder and shutter button will not fire. The body gear indicator is in the cocked position BUT the barn doors are open and the mirror is up as if to be uncocked. The silver gear screw in the mirror box was I use to uncock the body and then recock the body but the mirror and doors did not move to the proper positions. The body looks to have been recently CLA’ed as I noticed some fresh grease in places that I have not seen in examples. I am comfortable with de-assembling this camera if needed but I want to know where I can release the mirror and doors and I can’t start from there. Any pre de-assembly ideas on the issue?
