Am I right to assume the new version come with a leather zipped case?

I've an old 60's version that I could do with a case for and would like to try and get hold of one if such a thing exists.

If it does can you buy them from Leica and do they have an item number?

Yes, the current Elmar comes with a leather case. I do not know the item number, but I would contact Leica's parts department directly and order it from them.
