I know, I know, they are different creatures. Erwin's review stated that the contrast of the new Summarit is higher than the 'Lux Asph. Have you guys seen this difference?

My past experience with my Noct-M were water-color & painterly beauty and contrast is not that great. How's the contrast of the 50mm lux asph?

Could you guys share with me your experiences on this lens?

Also, how many of you needed to send your 50mm lux asph back to get it re-calibrated with the M8/M? for your f/1.4 usage?

I consider the Lux ASPH one of the few lenses designed with perfection for the M range. I do not have the Summarit, but have the Cron and a bunch of other 50 lenses like the Nocti, M-Hexanon 50mm f1.2, S-Nikkor (Millennium), MS Optical, etc. I rate the Lux ASPH as the best overall lens. Again, it depends on how you weigh your preferences.
