Getting the lens bug again folks, this hobby is a curse!
Thinking of trying a 50mm to mingle with my CV25 f4 and CV40 f1.4.
A ZM C Sonnar 50mm T* reviews well, anyone here got any experience with them on the R-D1?
I really like the results people get from the CV50mm 1.1 , it's got an interesting look about it. But some reviews say it's a toy?

the 50/1.1 is not a toy...
i use the cv 50/2.5...not blazing fast but fast enough, plenty sharp and small.
my rd1 kit now has only the small cv lenses in it...28/3.5 - 40 sonnar 2.8 - 50/2.5 and the tiny cv 15.

The best camera is one that still works!
Well ... they're all toys really. Let's be honest here!
I don't know about on an RD-1 but the C Sonnar is the best 50mm I own ... if you can deal with the slight focus shift it's hard to match in it's price range IMO.

What about a Canon 50/1.4 or even 50/1.8?
They're toys but mighty fine ones!

Not sure if you'd be interested or how it would be on an RD1 but a friend of mine just traded a CV 50mm 1.5 Nokton in at Stephens Photo Centtre in Manchester last Friday. Might be worth a call.
