I've been using the Mamiya 645 Pro system for some time with the 70/2.8 and the 150/4 for candids and portraits, respectively. I've been pondering for some time what would be the best lens to add to the system on the wide end for black and white candids like I have been using the 70mm. I was thinking the 55mm would be best as it is close to the perspective a 35mm lens would give on a 35mm slr/rangefinder system. I had already considered going wider (35/3.5) or faster (80/1.9) but I already have those covered with my 35mm slr system (20/2.8 and 50/1.2).
So which is more natural for those candids, and looks best under great enlargement (11x14 thru 16x20): the 45mm, or the 55mm?

I had the 55/2.8 and loved it.

Real Men Shoot Film.
I have both the 55/2.8 and the 45/2.8
I use the 45 more because I do more architectural work with the 645 than people, but for candids I think you'll like the 55. The 45 is like a 28mm on 35 film.
