I'm not sure the photos mean much of anything. Making extreme blowups from snapshots doesn't tell me much about any of these cameras. Just about any modern digital camera will take fine photos for posting on the web and making the size prints we generally make these days.

The only relevant thing I think with the X100 is if it fits your shooting style. Differences in image quality has become somewhat irrelevant these days.

A quick look on the photos shows me that the 5D blow ups show much more detail even with the cheap 35/2. Don't know if this is relevant for so many real life situations.

I don't see the point of including the 5D, because its sensor is much larger (full frame against APS-C) than the other two. It should take sharper pictures, and, at least for the architectural shot, it does. In that same group, I thought the X1 came off second best against the X100.

Since it's in Japanese, I'm not sure when he switches from 5DMkII to NEX-5D. Anybody understands ?

Not so new now.
Does the X100 take good pictures? I like cameras that take good pictures.

If you are really interested then I am sure you already saw the examples flying around on the internet.

Pretty solid comparison. The x100 is very very solid in terms of detail - it almost holds it's own against the 5d mkII - a camera known for it's high level of detail.

Here is some Google Translate to help you out:

I sure like the X1 when shooting in camera JPG. The X100 just doesn't hold up. Now, I NEVER shoot JPG, so the fact that the X100 has a poor JPG is not really critical to me, but I would like to see this same test run on raw using the same software for all. All we need is the software...
