I use it on the M8 with a UV/IR cut filter, but do not have it coded--it really doesn't seem necessary to me. The vignetting is minor and quite appealing looking, and I see no cyan drift to speak of. Some people code it as a Noctilux, though.

Coding the 50mm Nokton 1.1 as a Noctilux offers three possibilities - the 1.2 and the 1.0 (both through the M9's menu) and the .95, coded manually with a kit such as Match Technical's Coder 2.0 kit. Has anyone investigated / tested the differences in using these codes on an M9? Thanks.

It is my understanding from Sean Reid and others that coding for anything over 35mm focal length is really not necessary on the M8/8.2. Whether or not that goes for the M9, I don't know. I coded my 50mm 1.1 Nokton as a 50mm Noctilux and I really didn't notice any difference on my M8.

Yes, but as I said, there are three versions of the Noctilux - f1.2; f/1.0; and f.95 - each with different design and manufacturing parameters. So again, does anyone have any insights into which Noctilux the 50mm Nokton f1.1 should be coded as on an M9?

EXIF info is the only reason that I did code it. Otherwise, given the smaller than full frame format, vignetting is not a problem with a 50mm lens on the M8.

I have it coded as Noctilux 1.0 Not much difference with the M9. Only the EXIFF data. Very easy process.

Use a M8.2 and coded the Voigtlander 50/1.5 Nokton Asph as the Leica Lux 50/1.4.
