60mm lens?

i was originally looking for a cheaper way to get a 60 on my rd1...no way for me to get any custom work done...

i like the 50 and 75 on the rd1 but i'm imagining a 60 to be perfect for me...

a 60mm F1.5 Zuiko would have to be converted to a new mount to RF couple.

That's what Miyazaki does .... A half format lens on the RD1 seems like a good idea; gives you speed without additional size. Then again, cropping a 50mm down to 60 doesn't seem a big deal to me. Like printing an 8x10 - or 16x20, Joe.

I still wonder why bother with a 60... the difference between 60-50 is not that much and the price is a wow.

Hi everyone,

I think somebody must be confused by Konica 60 1.2 (1999) and Konica 60 1,2 (1950s) . They are totally different.

This ebay item was made in 1950s.which is for antique lens collector. Not the modern type. And I think Joe is finding a modern type now. The modern type were made in 1999 and come with box ,hood, leather case and paperworks. Normally cost 3500 us dollars.

seems a bit of negativity because i am interested in a 60mm lens...if photography involves vision and lenses are our eyes on the world then does it not make sense to want to be able to match my vision with the camera's vision?

i cannot pay 3500$ for a lens so this idea will not work for me but i have discovered that 40 fits better than a 35 for me...even if the difference is small - should i not go for the 40?

as to other lenses, i keep a 28 because the rd1 has framelines for a 28 and the lens is small and sharp but i don't use it all that much...i think the 21 works better for me...and foolish me, i sold my 21 and now miss it and will need to re-buy one.

No negativity here- more like being practical. There are very few 60mm focal length lenses out there.

I think you are looking at $1000 to have a lens made into Leica mount, or many thousands for a Hexanon.

The 60/1.5 and 58/1.5 Sonnars are "bizarre", and still run in the $800 ~ $1000 range. Some may be well made and work correctly, but not the one that I saw.

No negativity intended. I mean for all the reasons you want you can even specifically like a 61mm lens instead. What I was implying was that searching for such a lens is difficult, and I wonder why the sellers are selling them for a fortune.. (other than rarity)?

I like the 60mm FL. No doubt, it's not easy to come by, but pairing the 60 with a 35 is a pretty nice kit IMHO. Works more to my liking than a 50/28 setup. Yet, not largely unused like the 90 in a 90/50 combo. Good luck finding what works for you!

Isn't the 43 about a 60 when on the RD-1? Not saying it's a cheap option; just saying....
