the the hexanon 60 the only 60mm lens made for m mount?
i'd like a 60mm for the rd1 but the hex is both hard to find and too $$ for me.

Hi Joe,
It's the only 60mm I know of, and LTM too...
Using a Visoflex and 65mm Elmar made for that is the only other solution that comes to mind but your Epson would take on the size of a clunky SLR like that...

Why a 60 Joe?
I use one on my Contax and Canon. A 60mm Zeiss Macro Planar mostly for close up and product shots though. To be honest I don't see the view as much different than when using a 50mm. It's not the same FOV feeling as the difference between a 40mm and 50mm IMO.

Amedeo can convert a Nikkor 55/1.2 to M-Mount.
Nikon also made a 5.8cm F1.4, I'll bet he could convert it as well.

For those who have spare Noct Nikkor 58mm lenses lying around, that would be a fantastic lens to convert. Actually, a UV Nikkor converted for use on an M8 would be incredibly cool.
I still want anything with the name ELCAN on it.

Of course the Noct-Nikkor 58/1.2 goes for >$3000. Used to sell for $800 used.
The 5.8cm F1.4 is closer to $200. The 55/1.2 is closer to $350 these days. Used to be $50 and $125 respectively about ten years ago.

why a 60?
i'm interested in what it might look like on an rd1. i have always liked a 40 but love it on the rd1...a 50 is also great on the rd1...
i was thinking that a 21/40/60 might be a wonderful rd1 kit.
but 1500 bucks means it ain't gonna happen for me...

Damn you said $15,000 so i went to go buy, but its actually $15,800. Too rich for my blood.
$15,800 wowzers. Saw one sell on ebay months ago for closer to $5,000, thought that was amazing too. Though the one currently on ebay is "the" earliest version of it?

Here is one: Miyazaki / Angenieux Paris 60mm f/1.8, 280701238296@ebay. Only US 6,165.50.
Talk to Miyazaki. He might have other ideas. A Pen FT 60/1.5 might work well on an Epson

i had a cv 75/2.5 which worked well on the rd1...but i seem to prefer these sorta mid mm focal lengths.
I'll lend you my 200mm F4.5 Komura, RF coupled, Thread mount.
After that, the 75/1.8 will seem like mid-range and you'll actually be able to afford it.
The alternative is to Email Amedeo about converting a 55/1.2 or 58/1.4 Nikkor.
a 60mm F1.5 Zuiko would have to be converted to a new mount to RF couple. Scale focusing a Telephoto- not easy.
