I couldn't find any info on 610 film, did you mean 620?
If you did, 620 fits on 120 reels. If not, how big is it? several people make adjustable developing reels that will fit 35mm, 127, 120, and others. You might look into one of those.

Thanks, yes, yes, I did mean 620 film. Are you sure that it fits 120 reels? You sure can't put 120 film in a 620 camera--too big. Anyway, thanks and sorry for the confusion.

Hey, Thanks, CleverName! I just pulled out the instructions for my Nikor reel and it says "for 120/620" Brilliant! It is amazing how fast you guys can solve my problems!
There is a small difference in the size of the spools used in 120 vs. 620 film thanks to Kodak wanting to have thier cake and eat it too. The film media, however, is exactly the same. IIRC, the numbers on the backing paper even line up ok when you respool from 120 to 620 for gosh sakes... so it shouldn't be any surprise that the developer reels don't care which spools the film was on.
O, that explains a lot. I was just looking at a dealer on the Bay that claimed to resize 120 for 620 without respooling and I thought "that's impossible" but if what you say is true, then it makes sense. They're just cutting the spool down somehow. The customer feedback says it works too. This mean, for instance, that you can get Fuji NPH for your 620 camera!
This leads me to another question. I wonder if I can just get out a flat file and file down a roll of 120 untill if fits in the camera. I think I'll try that tomorrow!!
Part of the difference between 120 and 620 spools is the core diameter is smaller for the 620. So the film/paper wraps more tightly around the core, and the outer loaded diameter is therefore also smaller. The potential problem for taking material off the edges of the 120 reel is that you're losing protection against light leaking in along the edges of the outer wraps of film. I've heard of this shaving being done, but I think there also are risks.
