Why not processing the films by yourself and asking a lab to make a contact print? It costs about 4e and it's ready overnight. France isn't a 3rd World country and we have excellent labs, besides having invented photography 😉 It would be much more expensive overwise...
(Oh, btw, if you come to Paris and you're offered a 10m² (30ft²) for 450€, do refuse, and try to find something cheaper, best value is the 13th arrondissement or 20th, or even better, suburbs. Don't even try the 1st to 8th (central paris) nor 15th and 16th arrondissements that are by far the most expensive (up to 9000€+/m² for the 6th when buying))

Thanks, Stephane. you may have come up with the most elegant solution of all. I'd have to figure out how much it would be to do my own, but more time travelling around and less time printing sounds pretty good. We'll be on a shoestring budget, but still it might work.
Yeah, I think some nice quiet suburban town with RER service into a TGV station. Again, small budget. Thanks to all for the help!
