How could I top my $20 OM1 50/1.8 MIJ Zuiko find on Saturday?

"Hay dad, there is a nice old camera over there.". We were at a field auction. Sure enough, it is a very nice clean fully functional Super Ikonta 533/16 6x9. Marked on the inside Zeiss Ikon Film, B2-6x9, 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 in. The lens is very clean, Zeiss Opton 80/2.8 Tessar. It has a Synchro Compur shutter. It is clean, and really I think fully functional. All of the dials and settings are clean and smooth. I am pretty stoked!!! Oh yeah, $75 after the auctioneer's premium and taxes. 😀

With an 80mm lens it's 6x6 not 6x9, or you've read the lens wrong.

The 533/16 with Opton Tessar is the (or one of) the most desirable Super Ikontas. It is worth much more than you paid. The 533/16 takes 120 film and produces a 6x6 neg. I believe the 6x9 marking was what Zeiss called their film that was used in their 6x4.5 all the way to their 6x9 cameras. You'll likely need the manual (found online) the first time you load it. There are some quirky things to set before loading and winding - to make sure the film stops at each frame and the counter engages. Great camera though, especially f8 and down.

It sure looks to be a 6x6 BX MX but that marking inside through me for a loop. It is huge too, much bigger than any 6x6 folder I have seen.

Nick, the auction is twice a month in Sterling. It normally has the average household tagsale stuff, estate items, barn tools & items, and an occasional gem.

I do have to down load a manual. Other than the loading though it looks to be pretty straight forward.
