The results from these old lenses can be very pleasing, I wish more people would post some. Coincidently I took my seventy year old 'Baby Ikonta' for a walk along the waterfront this morning, - just been scanning some of the results

The lack of coating tends to give a blue cast in daylight and a yellow/brown cast under tungsten, but I have used my 1936 Elmar quite happily on my M8. In fact, a few months ago I did a Shutterbug article about 23 old lenses on an M8.
One of my favourite lenses on the M8 is my 1938 Thambar, where I prefer it to mono film.

I've even used my ELMAR on my Pentax DSLR (macro). It is wonderful. I've had the lens since 1963. And it is still my favorite 35mm lens. This is a bad scan, bad focus, but 1965:
