75/2.5 Color Heliar, Opinions Please

But I'll bet Cosina continues previous practice in not offering the same apertures for the same focal lengths as Leica; they'll be either a bit faster or a bit slower than Leica's lenses. So, a 75mm f/1.8 maybe, and a 90mm f/2.2...?

I do have a 75mm Heliar but have not used it very much. What I have seen of it though is pleasant.

Its funny that back in 2005 Doug predicted that Cosina will make a 75/1.8 lens! Wow!

Ahh nostalgia!
I wonder how the popularity of the old 75 is going to change when the new one arrives!
I love this lens, really comfy with the r3a. I would like the 75/1.8 if I could afford it and the 50/1.1 wasn't on the list. ha!

Question: does this lens have a color cast?
The lens size is what I like. Too bad the minimum focus is 1 meter: this limits its use as a lens for roaming.
But the second hand price difference with a 75/2.5 Leitz is too big for me.

No, the 75mm Helair doesn't have color cast problems.
It's more a problem of WA lenses.


PS: I would never change mine against a Summarit 75mm too ...
