wayne, i used to shoot medium format rangefinders and then decided that i wanted to go back to 35mm. when i did that i bought a cv bessa r with a 35mm lens and 2 weeks later bought a 75mm lens.
the 75 is a great lens, small, light and very sharp.
i sold the bessa kit when i fell for the canon p and old canon lenses.
coming full circle i'm back into cv as one of my kits.
i won't be selling the cv kit (or the zi kit) unless i fall into dire financial circumstances.
i say use the 75 you have and evaluate the photos and your shooting experience and then decide if you should keep it or not.

Oh, right. Use reason and logic, hey?
I'm working on it. Let us know how you like coming around to where you were.

ljsegil said:As you would expect, it's a little bit of a kludge, but I have been pretty content using a Voigtlander 75mm finder with the 75mm APO-Summicron on the ZI (brings up 50mm framelines). I find it easier than using the preview switch to bring up the 85mm framelines, and you're still guessing on your framing with either the 50 of 85mm framelines on the ZI. At least with the finder you can have a little more confidence in your composition.
That's a good point, Joe. You might want to add the CV 75mm finder,
it is outstanding (also 1:1). Might make the lens usable on the R4 as well
(at least at medium to far distances). PV used to sell the two in combo.

the combo sale price is very good too.
i may look for the finder in the future (i had one but sold it) but for now i'll try the zi. i bought an ltm adapter that brings up the 90 fl so i hope to be ok with that set up.

I'm still on the hunt for a used CV 75mm finder. I almost bought yours, Joe, when you had it in the classifieds section way back when and now regret not doing so. The 75 works fine with the framelines in my M6 but I would also like to be able to use it with my M3.

i should have held on to it randy, but i was thinking at the time that i had the 90 and really didn't need the 75 lens. things change...sold the 90 and now want something a bit longer but cheaper.
i can't wait to see what brilliant idea i come up with next!
