looks like i'll have to try this myself and see what happens.
the lens fits nicely on the body and is comfortable to hold.
with the 5xa bag it could be a nice small kit with 28/75 combo and some fast film.

I don't know if it's any help, but I sometimes use my CV 75 on my CL and I like it - I use the 90 framelines and allow for a bit extra around the edges.

I've tried it, Joe. The combo handles nicely, but the 90mm framelines
on the CLE were pretty useless to me.

the easy solution for me would be to just get the cv 40 and be done with it. a one camera/one lens combo only.

Useless in that they are so small, and corners only, Joe. Couldn't frame with them.
The CLE EBL is good enough for the 75/2.5. But somehow, for me, it worked well with
a 28/40 combo only.
On the other hand the CV 75mm finder is phenomenal, 1:1, super bright,
etc 🙂

when i had the cle before i used the 90 quite a bit and i don't recall having problems with the frame lines, i think i could use the 75 and be ok. i may try using a 28/75 combo for now...or get a 40...maybe a sonnar!

by way of an update...
i have a 40/2 rokkor lens on the way for the cle.
i had been planning on getting an r3a for use with the cv 75 but am now thinking/close to getting a 75 finder for the cle.
that would make a nice kit, cle with 40 & 75 and it would fit nice and snug into the domke 5xa bag too🙂

I agree the 90mm framelines are probably the main weakpoint I think off when using a CLE. The CL does have better framelines for this focal length. However CLE frames are quite conservative and I would have thought that the 90mm framelines would have worked reasonably with a 75mm lens. Especially the Voiglander 75 as you can choose the adapter to bring up the 90mm framelines. I would be interested to see how you go with an external finder for this focal length. I dont mind external finders too much, wide angle ones are fine, but with the telephoto ones when you have to dial in distance to correct for parralax then they can be a bit slow to use.

joel, i was going to use the 90 framelines but gandy had a 75 finder used so i went with that.
if there is little difference i might use the finder on the r4a if i decide to pack the 75 lens in the cv kit at times.

Hi Joe, yes that would certainly make it worth while getting to use with your R4a. I would still very much like to hear your experience with the 75 on your CLE though, with finder and/or the 90mm framelines. Always enjoy reading about different experiences and experiments with the CLE.

I have used it on my CLE. I find the lack of 75 framelines makes it awkward, thought the combo handles great. In fact, I like the way the CLE handles quite a lot, but I haven't put a 40mm on it yet - need to bite the bullet and get the Rokkor I guess.
I also don't have as mush confidence in its metering (at least compared to the Hexar RF) but haven't quite figured out whats going on there. With my CV 25mm Snapshot on the CLE I get an occassional shot that seems to have exposed for the highlights, loosing all shadow detail. Any thoughts on CLE metering?
