the need for speed
I use a 2-stop (0.6 / 4x) B+W filter and find that allows me to cater reasonably in many circumstances (using an M3 with a max of 1/1000 or Hexar RF with 1/4000 and sensible film choices). I find the filter quite easy to get on and off.
...Mike
P.S. ..and, given the thread title, a photo:
Mike -- thank you so much! that's kind of what we came up with, but i wasn't sure. (the joke is that i do so much low light shooting, using my lenses wide open with ISO 800 or 1600 -- i've forgotten what sun was like.) i'll start with the 4X and move up to 8X if i get more adventurous when i'm in Los Angeles in May.
gorgeous photo. btw. the colours just pop! it's a good reminder of why i'm getting this lens. it seems to be in a class all it's own. keep them coming!
