Mike -- thank you so much! that's kind of what we came up with, but i wasn't sure. (the joke is that i do so much low light shooting, using my lenses wide open with ISO 800 or 1600 -- i've forgotten what sun was like.) i'll start with the 4X and move up to 8X if i get more adventurous when i'm in Los Angeles in May.

gorgeous photo. btw. the colours just pop! it's a good reminder of why i'm getting this lens. it seems to be in a class all it's own. keep them coming!

i'm dying to get mine but it's still a week or two away :bang:

after carrying around the Nocti yesterday to practice focussing on it, i spent half the time in cafes knowing i'd made the right decision to get the 75 as well (closer focusing, longer view).

between the two, i don't have money to join a gym. then again, lugging these two monsters around, i won't need it 😀

thank you everybody for continuing to post. there's no doubt i love the lens but, more importantly, i love what you all are doing with it.

maybe it's one of those lenses that is so big an unwieldily that you, yourself, really have to love and it pushes you to go that extra distance?

i've gone through the images multiple times, kind of putting the perspective in my head. this one, in particular, caught my eye -- how had i missed it before? it reminds me very much of a Steichen....

Carl -- although the colour is lovely, would you be willing to convert it to black and white for me to see (and maybe put it up a wee bit larger)?

i love women's backs and have seen so few photos here. it makes me regret that i don't have anybody that's game to model. but this makes me wonder if, with the limited depth of field, i might be able to do a self-portrait in the mirror...?
