75mm Heliar or 90mm Leica

You might also think about where you see the picture from- if you see the shot from across the road and walk over to make it the 90 might be better for you- you'll preserve more of the perspective you saw from across the road. But if you see the picture as you approach something and the 40 is sometimes just a little too wide than the 75 might be better suited to your work.

I love the 35mm FL but had never been a very big fan of the 75. That was mainly because my M2 does not have framelines for it. However, now that I am doing a lot of shooting with the R-D1, I am coming to like it. My favored combo with it is the 28/1.9 and 50/1.4. These translate to a little over 40 and 75mm.

I had another thought on this. I have been using a D1x for a long time with a 50mm glued to the front. So therefore 75mm is the natural choice, as of the 1.5x crop on the digital. So it wil mean I have my eye back from the past 2 years.

Hah 75mm is gonna be the one. Plus a sweet 16mm fisheye is sitiing waiting on it's adaptor.

That's exactly how I came to like the 75mm - using a 50 on my D1 and D70s! My M6 outfit is 28-35-75, but my M3 kit is 40-90.
