I am currently using a cv 75mm f2.5 for every day use, for my shots on my IIIf. I haven't went to the expense of buying a 50mm or a 35mm, but am I really missing out? Will the added flexibility of a 50 or 35mm really make a difference? I have a cv 25mm snapshot in my bag also, so this kind of ticks the other boxes. Comments welcome please.

Regards,

Robert.

Excellent FL. Its a different perspective, more cropped and detail oriented. Your 25mm will cover everything else.

I used my 50mm f/1.4 on my digital SLR's a lot, which gives a similar FOV after the crop factor so I have felt comfortable using the CV 75mm f/2.5 so far on my R2A.

if your photography is along the lines of ralph gibson or saul leiter, i don't think you're missing out on too much. they used mostly or exclusively 50mm, though.

Depends on what you're shooting. If its street, my personal preference for a mate to the 75 would be a 35 but your 25 will do fine. 25 + 75 is a super street outfit IMO. Welcome to the forum! :)

75mm is too long for me as a general walkaround lens. But as a companion to other lenses, it's a very useful focal length. I'll join the others in suggesting a 35mm as an addition to your kit. I think 25-35-75 will give you you an outstanding coverage, with no significant gaps between lenses. Why not pick up the VC 35/2.5? A fine lens! :)
