Just bought this lens, and I was not expecting too much. Just shot my first roll of film, and scanned it. Very happy indeed. The lens did show a strange flare when shot directly into the sun: there was a strip at the top that was not affected by the flare. The flare was nice looking.

And a 200% close up.

The image is straight out of the scanner. No sharpening in the scanner or post. Scanned with vuescan and 2 passes.
Would love to see other images taken with this lens - I haven't seen too many.

I like the lens, but I'm switching back and forth between the 7A and the Canon 3.5cm f2 ltm.

7A 3.5cm f2

Canon 3.5cm f2 LTM

From these it definitely looks as if the 7A has a little more contrast.

The 7A is also very sharp.

Great value, if I were in the market for a 35mm I would consider this over any LTM, and maybe even the VM Color Skopar and use the price difference on more film and chemicals.
