85/1.5 arrived...

No really, for me the main attraction of RF's is the small size and not getting a hernia when carrying a bag with a couple of lenses and I have the 1.9 which is heavy enough as it is.

On the other hand if one came along at the right price and I could sneak it past the other half, I could be tempted 🙂

Hi Kim, you don't want that lens... do you? 🙂

That's quite normal, Kim... 😉 the way I've got my 1.5/85.

In general you are dead right. My most fun "user" RF telephoto is the 3.5/100. The others stay in cabinet most of the time.

But Steph, the last 2/100 I saw (don't go wrong, this isn't a compact lens either!) went for relatively low 338 USD (No. 7585368004) and only had 2 bidders. I was outbidden because of low limit - in fact the 2/100 isn't much different from my 1.8/85 except that it's noticeable bigger. So my interest on that particular lens isn't great.

I may try and find a 100/3.5 since I know I won't be able to afford the f/2 anytime soon. I just want the f/2 for the lower light capabilities...it isn't really necessary.

The 100 is really a very sweet little lens. When I was testing the 50's and doing a comparison between the J9 and Canon 1.9, I ran some similiar shots with the 100. If anything the results from the 100 were nicer and it would suit the frame lines better. It is slower but you can always use a slightly faster film. The main area you will notice the lack of "speed" is in portraiture where the 100 may have too great a depth of field at F4.
