Who owns this lens? How about availibility and pricing? Any opinions appreciated.

As far as I know it is "made in Oberkochen" not in Nagano 😉 (like the 15mm)Compared to the other Zeiss glass it seems to be pricey....
And production started recently (later than the other ZMs) caused by some mechanical probsI haven't seen any
It looks like it's about the same size as the Contax-mount Zeiss Sonnar 85mm f/2; it's a beautiful lens; the main drawback, in my view, is the 1.5m closest focusing distance. I hope that the new ZM 85mm Sonnar close-focuses to at least 1msepiareverb said:The ZM 85 is made in Germany, floating elements requiring more precise manufacturing is what Zeiss says.
It looks much more compact than I imagined- Michael is there much VF frameline intrusion?
Yes, it is mentioned "lens made in Germany" on the lensveraikon said:As far as I know it is "made in Oberkochen" not in Nagano 😉 (like the 15mm)
Indeed, minimum focus distance is 1mGabriel M.A. said:I hope that the new ZM 85mm Sonnar close-focuses to at least 1m
No, only a little bit, but ok for me. But I have not yet the lens shade. This attached to the lens might be more a problem. The lens shade was not available, when I bought the lens.sepiareverb said:It looks much more compact than I imagined- Michael is there much VF frameline intrusion?
