someone told me i might have problems with buying a 90 summicron for my r3a i shoot alot of low light work and just wondered am i going to have to go with an almarit or an elmar has anyone had focusing issues with a fast 90 on a bessa?

Yes. I was unable to focus 85/2 or 90/2 on R3a, close up (as typical
for my portraits). 90/2.8 is no problem, though.

My R3a was well calibrated. You will hear other voices saying they
can focus a fast tele on a Bessa - I guess it's very much people
and camera dependent.

Roland.

I remember seeing the math of rangefinder focusing somewhere on the web. (Erwin Puts??) And yes, the maths says focusing a 90/2.8 on a Bessa is no problem for average humans, so I guess ppl who can focus a 90/2 have better eyesight.
