9000ed problem, help

Borrowed a 9000ed from a friend of mine since he went for vacation with his family.
I just got it today and the problem is that the scanner won't power-on. The power button wouldn't stay in the "on" position and I have to hold still the button then the green light would start blinking and seems like the scanner starts up. However, if I let me hands off the button, the scanner would just shut down on its own.......... 😡 Is it because I didn't hookup the 1394 cable? (the one is 6 to 4 pins but I need the 6 to 6 pins cable, probably going to get one tonight).

Hi fbf,
I think something must be wrong with the switch. When you press it in, it should stay down, and when you press it again (off), it will pop out. The firewire cable doesn't affect it at all. I wonder if the on/off button got hit during transit.
