Another option if you have the cash is the 50 ZM planar. Similar contrast and stunning performance. I have one and it is a remarkable lens which I shoot alongside a 35 pancake II and the images stack very nicely together.

Many many thanks for the advices. Roland, Earl, I hear you and I will certainly consider an Hexanon 50/2. But right now I'm inclined to favour the Skopar 50/2.5. Obviously, it is slow (not slower than an Elmar though), but it is small too, as Pau pointed it out, and sharp enough for street photography. I just want a modern look, different from the old look of my excellent Summitar. Besides, I have an opportunity to buy a Skopar at a decent price.
Turtle, I've already had two Planar ZM ... both sold. I can't really explain why I don't like this lens. But the worst is that I'm considering giving it a third chance because I feel I missed something ... maybe I'm just insane ;-)
Raid, the CZJ 50/1.5 is such a beautiful lens! However, I'm not looking for its kind of rendition. Maybe another time
Again, thank you all.
Marc
PS: Earl, I would be happy to meet you here in Toulouse or in Paris!
