Seriously - is slide film about to die? I saw Fuji pulled yet more films from its line-up, including Provia 400, which was one of my absolute favourite films, brilliant for my Mamiya 7, made it usable handholding while yielding superb shots. Tragedy.
Will people still stick with film when E6 finally dies?

It will be a sad day as nothing has such a large visual dynamic range as a slide.
Aside from that I'm shooting more E6 than ever because part of me thinks it may indeed be phased out within 2 years.

The one major lab here in the Atlanta GA area shut down last Feb---sad..

I go to Peak Imaging in the UK. They have freepost mailers and great service posted on Monday back Thursday.
Their process control is excellent, I say that as a former lab owner and emulsion tester.

Last week my latest shipment with fresh colour reversal film arrived here. About 100 films, 135 and 120.

No Roger, it is not true.
Some time ago the "Financial Times Deutschland" as one of the biggest economic newspapers in Germany closed their doors.
In their last published article they wrote about things
- which are superfluous
- which are important and must be kept alive.
In the category of important things worth to be kept alive they
listed reversal film!
Well, we are not talking about a photo magazine which has written that, it was the Financial Times Deutschland.
When I made my latest E6 film order last week I asked my distributor about their E6 business:
He said they are selling hundreds of slide films each day, and also each day several Tetenal and Fuji Hunt E6 developing kits.

Hi Paul,
As I am living in the film shooters paradise, Germany (which has one of the best film infrastructures worldwide), it is very easy and cheap to get my E6 films processed. Dozens of professional labs are doing it here, and all drugstore chains are offering it.
Therfore with more than 3500 drugstore chain shops here in Germany we have more than 3500 places where we can give our films for development.
I am mostly using one of the best German professional labs:
www.photostudio13.de
They are also doing international business worldwide, and they are doing BW reversal development!
I've heard that
www.dunwoodyphoto.com in Atlanta is planning to offer E6 development. Maybe you can ask them.
Or use mail order. In most cases it is even cheaper than using the local lab. Because if you use the local lab you have costs for fuel (car), parking fees, bus tickets and so on, and going to your local lab always costs time.
Costs for mail ordering are often much less.
I have two local E6 labs here in my town.
Nevertheless I am using mostly Photostudio 13 which is some hundred kilometers away from me.
Using mail order is cheaper for me than going to my local labs here (and besides that the quality of PS 13 with dip and dunk processing, cascade fix and cascade watering is outstanding).
Even in the US with its weak lab infrastructure you have several excellent options.
My US friends recommend the following E6 mail order labs:

Guys, there was no pun intended! I don't have much those kind of special shots, but when the space and time plays together there's nothing that compares to E6.
Yep, this is what we E6 shooters all should do - not just buy but also SHOOT more.
