A celluloid dilemma with 800 ISO

I live in very sunny Florida (I am not rubbing it, it is just the facts). I like to shoot outdoors (sunny) and indoors at night (not sunny). Can I get away with an 800 ISO color negative film? If so any recomendations?
I was thinking of maybe using an ND filter during the day? Ideas?
 
ND .6 will bring it back to ISO 200 and ND .3 to 400. If you want to stay with one film this is the way to go.
 
The ND filter is a good option. I used one on my Mamiya/Sekor 500TL SLR and on a Canonet G-III QL17. Another possibility would be a polarizing filter. These cut the light too. In Florida they would be useful around water or with bright blue skies.

Fuji Superia 800 is the color film I use the most. It does not handle under exposure well. I shoot it at ISO 640 at night. In the day it works well at ISO 800. Just remember to avoid under exposure whenever possible. If you scan the negatives, the shadow grain can be minimized with judicious use of curves/levels post-processing. It took me a while to get the hang of this, but it was worth the learning curve.

With your 40/1.4 you might be able to use ISO 400 color negative film for night shots. Your 21/4 may also be useful at ISO 400 if you can hand-hold at 1/15 or eve 1/8 sec. (I can't).

Second for Fuji 800, though I generally shoot w/ fuji press 800. Good colors, and you can shoot 800 in daylight, when stopped down. The ND filters are a good idea, as well... though they are more prone to flare, so use a hood if you've got one.

Can I shoot 800 at night and , say, 400 at day in the same roll? Thinking that I can not due this draws me to the ND filter.
