I was fortunate enough to borrow the 15mm over the weekend. I could not really go photograph what I would have liked to but here are a few snap shots taken with it and the MP. Processed at Costco still need to do a propper scan when I get a chance.

Wow! That is all I can say. I didn't think I wanted one this wide but now...

Out of curiosity, how much are you cropping images 3-5? Also, the lens is fantastic, but the perspective might be too wide for the way I shoot. That might change, however, if I were to find myself living in large open spaces again. I'm going to PhotoPlus next weekend, and I'll see if I can sweet-talk a rep into letting me play with the new 18 and 21. That 18 will of course give the M8 an effective 24mm lens..

If you take the cropped images and imagin them over Nr.2 you can see how much as cropped. 2 is full frames.

The contrast and color you're getting out of that lens is just stunning. Especially with film and not chrome, (I only assume this because you stated Cosco developed). Are you doing much post-processing, or are these straight uploads?
And, uh, just how hard was it to give back the lens?

I forgot to ask- did you use the center filter?

Woah.. what's it like shooting so wide? The most I've ever done was.. well.. my 25ZM.
Not much post processing. I shot these on Fuji pro 160
These look so different on my work monitor. All washed out. On my home monitor they look great.

In some of the shots I see a SIGNIFIANT loss of detail and sharpness along the edges- is this true? Wide open on my R-D1s my 12mm Voightlander stays sharp across the board (relatively).

Nothing to do with image quality (which is great), but #2 makes my stomach queasy. Between the thought of pork barbeque and espresso, the pink porker, then add the "falling off the left side" due to the extreme WA effect, I feel the vapors coming on!

some test shots. both are shot at f2.8, I think, or maybe f4. I just like the punchy colours.

I have to say im totaly not impressed, the images are fine, but the lens in the corners sucks. My canon 17-40 gives far better image then this.

yes, I have been fooling around with the epson long enough, tomorrow I will take out my Canon 5D and 17-40 for a spin.

You would need to see if the softness is in the negative or was introduced during scanning.
How good is Costco scanning? I've never used them.

Maybe you want to see some of the photos taken by the 15ZM on my website http://www.fuwen.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=25&Itemid=54. The corners problem may be solved if the lens is not focus at infinity but I am not sure.
