Hi Vince,
The 180mm F2.8 CZJ Sonnar is nice, if it comes in Hasselblad 1000F Mount? Here I'm using it modded to a 6x9cm Makiflex by Plaubel. I believe that the Olympic 180mm f2.8 Sonnar is very similar earlier optic. The CZJ Sonnar is a fave of Pentacon users, I believe it can be modded to Hassy. Just a possible suggestion, it's so lovely to look through!

Yes it did come in the 1600f/1000f mount - there’s one online that I’m keeping an eye on but I really don’t need it, which is why I haven’t yet purchased it. Think I need to reign myself in for the time being - of course that’s always subject to change!Hi Vince,

Many thanks for sharing this - something for me to aspire to being!Vince, one of my mentors in the '70s was a Boston photographer by the name of John Brook.
John had a 2nd floor portrait studio/apartment overlooking tony Newbury Street. One living room wall was painted grey and served as his"backdrop" for mostly B&W portraits lit by the bank of north facing windows.
He had one camera, a 1000 or 1600 Hasselblad, I forget which, and one lens, the 180mm f 2.8 Zeiss Olympic Sonnar.

I used to be "Kiev Cookoo"- so the 180mm F2.8 Sonnar CZJ has always been a FAVE of mine. I had two modded Exakta 66's, two matching Hot Rodded by Pentacon Dresden P6's, Kiev 88 that took Hassy Backs by Hartblei, so I REALLY missed the 180mm when I sold everything else off. That and the Kiev Fisheye are the two big attractions to the Kiev Rabbit Hole. Back then the Kiev Delphi Forum was like the Wild West, great fun kinda wild DRAMA.
Now I have the lens again, this time in the more reliable larger format 9x9cm Makiflex hack.

Still wandering around the garden - honestly I won't mind doing this in my retirement.

From 24 years of experience, retirement is the gift you wish for. We get to do pretty much what we want. And when we get old enough we really do not care at all what other people think. You will love it.

Thanks for the words of wisdom and experience -- it will hopefully be happening next year when we move to our property in Canada. This next year will definitely be a time of sweeping change for us!From 24 years of experience, retirement is the gift you wish for. We get to do pretty much what we want. Some parts pf Canada are wonderful. I lived in Montreal for a couple of years and visit BC now and again. It's just over four hours from me. I hope you can get provincial healthcare. I contemplated a move years ago and it would have been easier for me having lived there and graduated from a good school there. But healthcare was the problem. I am very well served by the VA and being hours from the hospital and unable to use VA emergency benefits made that a non-starter.
Provincial healthcare can be very good. It is in BC. Good luck up there in the land of Peace, Order and Good Government. They are so polite, until they have a hockey stick in their hands. LOL

At the moment it seems so for me - unfortunately due to my commercial workload and household commitments, I haven’t been able to get out into the world beyond my backyard for any personal work. So it seems that it’s going to be like this for at least the next few weeks.Perhaps there is a universe in our backyards.
I’ve gone back to using the 1000f with the digital back, as I prefer the way it works over the 1600f. I also have my eye on another very interesting lens, but I have to wait until next month. Hopefully the seller will still have it and he’ll be open to a bit of negotiation.
