A Hasselblad, more than 40 years after first looking.

Vince, any interest in "Mapping New Brunswick and/or PEI?"
Ying to New Mexico yang. or vice versa :)

We had actually considered moving to St. Stephen NB last year when it seemed that prices to build in Ontario were getting out of reach. But we chose to stay at our existing property and go through the process. Problem is the money to do these endeavours - a month in New Mexico can cost several thousand dollars, so I’m not sure how many more times I’ll be able to go back out there.

Having said that, I just connected with a young farmer in our region in eastern Ontario, so hopefully that might be the start of something.

St Stephen is super! I lived a few months there in 2000. Walked to USA and nearby town, huge difference in way of life! Viva Canada.
It was a boundary! I seldom carried my passport, waved! Oh! US Border wore short sleeve shirts, summer. Heavily armed! Canadians on facing side, bullet proof vests! Great chocolate factory in St Stephen..

ELM CFV16 Digital Back 50mm Dist Ready To Roll by Nokton48, on Flickr

Here I've got my Hasselblad EL/M Body playing nicely with my new Hasselblad CFV16 Digital Back. I am finding that I prefer the Standard Central Cross Screen, with a drop-in mask 3D printed in Italy. Easiest to see sharp focus across the entire field using these. I sold off my black T* Distagon years ago, now I have a nice one back in the fold, a 50mm Hood is coming ina few days. Batteries and CF Cards sorted, I have plenty. My olde CDS Meter works great with the CFV16, reads out directly in EV's, which was the idea with the olde lenses. Running the CDS Meter on an MR9 and 386 power combo, it seems to be TTL accurate with the CFV16. This is going to be great FUN, I'm sure I'll be using my Blads more with this fat pixel back. If I like something I might even shoot it on 120 film as a choice! The Rubber Eyecup is from the Kiev 60 Meter Prism, I gathered up a bunch of them, back in my Wedding Daze.

Original Orchard Apple Tree CFV16 40 Dist by Nokton48, on Flickr

Another test of the 40mm T* Distagon, some dramatic lighting on the original apple tree behind my back yard. Very little color in this one but the small green patches look good to my eye. EI 200 Hasselblad CFV16 Digital Back, Anniversary 500 C/M Body, Stovepipe Viewfinder. Shadow detail looks pretty good also

Ooh, storm light, a favorite of mine. Sometimes followed by powerful wind, rain, lightning and hail, but I like to be indoors by that time! No great loss, since everything looks impressionistic once the lens gets wet.
I just happened to be at the right place at the right time for that -- if you'd like to see what the scene looked like in colour, I have another shot in the 'W/NW Trees' thread.

I own several Hasselblad cameras used for my business, many years ago.

Bought a used 500C/M from Dave Odess.

The Zeiss lenses really are integral to making beautiful photographs.

500mm Oberkochen 500ELM CFV16 EI 200 EV 14.5 by Nokton48, on Flickr

This is the first test of the 500mm F8 Oberkochen Opton Hasselblad lens. EL/M Body with Olde Hasselblad CDS Meter Prism indicated EV14.5. Set that on the lens, this is the result. Hasselblad CFV16 Digital Back set to Ei 200, camera/lens mounted on a Plaubel Peco 2 Way Head, attached to sturdy Manfrotto legs. The pretty new Magnolia tree is our yard was blowing visibly, the 500mm shutter seems to have frozen it, there was a lot of leaf movment in the breeze. It is fun to play with the new digital back and I am loving the saturated colors I'm getting. Hasselblad says it's the fat pixels, but also how much space is around each pixel. Anyways I'm loving the color right out of the camera. Shooting distance was 28 feet, the absolute minimum focus distance on the lens. So I will add extension tubes if needed.
