Leica LTM a III to a war time IIIc?

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Look at the bidding on that fake/parts camera over $700

There`s suckers born every minute I guess, reserve has`nt been met yet, I bet it`s like $800 or $1,000 something

God, if someone wants a "wartime" black IIIC so much I`ll paint one of mine and sell it for $1,500 - geeze, some people are so gullible

Go for it Tom.
Part of me says:
If the buyers are not willing to do their homework before buying, then they deserve what they get.

i am sure Tom was tounge in cheek in saying ...and he definately should NOT go for it.

it may be easy to resent someone that has money to throw around unwittingly but learning all about Leica is quite a large undertaking and now unfortunately all the added learning about how crooks rip people off almost makes the idea of collecting leica unpalatable. :bang:

i may know more about Leica than the person next to me, you may know more than me, tom may know more than you and others more than tom. so anybody can be made a sucker. i certainly just dont think we should justify and place the blame on the victims of other peoples blatent fraud!

this seller whom is meant to be reputable and KNOWS that he is misrepresenting what he is selling is simply put, a CROOK! in this case he is where all critisim should be directed! what an A !@#$% he is

the best thing about this list is the folk that point out these frauds and make the rest of us aware of the details and in the process we learn more. i have been reading for I dont know how long now and there is still so much to learn! i have been looking for a good book (or 3) and cant decide which is the best to get! Tom often mentions that he gets whatever he is thinking of buying verified but at this point i have not found out how one does that? easily and reasonably quickly as well.

i noticed the other day in another thread someone was asking if one with an eagle and swazitika (spelling) navel engraving was genuine at MW classic camera i think it was...seemed that people here were suspicious but not difinitive...i went to have a look at it and it seems it is gone/sold...so there is that catch 22 if there is a camera that one is considering and bring it here for discussion and it seems like it may be geniune then it will likely be snapped up by someone else....

I know Tom meant it tongue in cheek, but I still think buyers should get a second opinion from known knowlegable people before laying down serious money for mock ups.
If they don't want to do their homework.

Here is a clear case were you certainly cannot trust the seller.

*PLEASE NOTE*

I`m NOT going to paint one of my cameras black and sell it, I was JUST making a JOKE - Please take it light heartedly

About this auction.....

I think that people should READ more about Leica`s and ask questions about them at least try to get the answers here ........before sinking hard earned cash into them

Now some people have more money then brains, I don`t resent them I pity them

Just because it says Leica and it`s painted Grey doesn`t mean it`s the real thing.....and in this case all those bidders can see in the auction is black paint!

***Bidding just ended at $910 reserve not met***

My God, it was over $1,000 for a parts/built up fantasy camera.....I don`t get it???? - there was a BEAUTIFUL
Leica I to IIF Sync top on the evilbay for less than $1,000 and NO ONE BOUGHT IT!!!!!

IT EVEN WAS FROM A FOUR DIGIT LEICA CONVERSION, now that`s a REAL deal for a Black Screw Mount camera, strangely UNSOLD :(
