i am sure Tom was tounge in cheek in saying ...and he definately should
NOT go for it.
it may be easy to resent someone that has money to throw around unwittingly but learning all about Leica is quite a large undertaking and now unfortunately all the added learning about how crooks rip people off almost makes the idea of collecting leica unpalatable. :bang:
i may know more about Leica than the person next to me, you may know more than me, tom may know more than you and others more than tom. so anybody can be made a sucker. i certainly just dont think we should justify and place the blame on the victims of other peoples blatent fraud!
this seller whom is meant to be
reputable and
KNOWS that he is misrepresenting what he is selling is simply put, a
CROOK! in this case he is where all critisim should be directed! what an
A !@#$% he is
the best thing about this list is the folk that point out these frauds and make the rest of us aware of the details and in the process we learn more. i have been reading for I dont know how long now and there is still so much to learn! i have been looking for a good book (or 3) and cant decide which is the best to get! Tom often mentions that he gets whatever he is thinking of buying verified but at this point i have not found out how one does that? easily and reasonably quickly as well.
i noticed the other day in another thread someone was asking if one with an eagle and swazitika (spelling) navel engraving was genuine at MW classic camera i think it was...seemed that people here were suspicious but not difinitive...i went to have a look at it and it seems it is gone/sold...so there is that catch 22 if there is a camera that one is considering and bring it here for discussion and it seems like it may be geniune then it will likely be snapped up by someone else....
