A la Carte: No MP Panda possible

Isn't Schrödinger that dilemma that you have a Leica limited edition in a sealed factory box but you can't open the box to use it?
No, it's that you configure your Leica in the A la Carte system, but that Leica gets to decide which look you actually should like, and that you ultimately get when you do really open the box.. Sort of A la Random..

Is there a way to order an A La Carte Leica on the 'net? I couldn't afford it, but I'd be interested to see what sort of options are available. Is there a "build your own Leica" page anywhere, or even just an order form where you get to make selections?

a la carte isn't detailed enough. for example, you can't just put an angled rewind crank on an mp. you also have to get a plastic-tipped advance lever. nuts!

The other day I saw an "M6 Panda" for sale on ebay. I thought it was a scam or something, I mean, chrome with black fittings? Who the hell thought of this? I absolutely loved it! It was the coolest leica I have seen, looked like my Nikon FM2. Then I found a little on Cameraquest about it, and it said there was nothing special about it, but didn't really give a concrete explanation as to what the Leica factory was thinking. I tried Leica A la Carte, and it won't allow black fittings on chrome bodies. Pretty disappointing, since A la Carte is supposed to customize, and black fittings on chrome aren't precisely an engineering challenge. I mean, they DO allow chrome fittings with black paint, anti-panda. Does anybody know anything else about the Panda?
Hmmm. I have seen and "modified" a few Pandas. It's easy. You just order the opposite color replacement rewind knob, shutter speed dial, advance lever, etc. and have a good Leica repairman switch them. It did cost over 200.00 US a few years ago.
