A little more perspective please.

I am the new owner of a very nice Minolta CLE 40/2 lens (it was to good of a deal to pass up). Since I don't have an M mount body, should I teach my son how to start a fire by focusing the sun's light on a peice of paper with it? I'd ask his mom, but we all know what her answer to this question will be.

I've done that before. Too good of a deal to pass up on a lens means you are half-way to a great deal on a camera+lens. I would look at a used M2 as well; the prices on classic "USER" grade RF gear is coming down, as in back to Earth. The EX+ and better is still in the stratosphere; but my best functioning cameras are user-grade. Someone actually kept them in good operating condition as opposed to in a closet.

I do have a lot to think about. Take a look at my latest post in the Rollie RF thread. A visit to the KEH bargan grade cameras may be worth my while too.

So, I have this nice Minolta Himatic 9 and Yashica GSN I can part with. I don't think I can let the Konica Auto S3 go, and the Canonet is staying. Do you think anyone would like a Canon EOS IX? I didn't think so.

Might consider a Voigtlander Bessa-T, Rover. Now on close-out at CameraQuest for $175. Get the necessary (and unique) external Voigtlander 40mm finder from them too! That would make a nice rig, inexpensive too. The CLE Rokkor is a real gem!

I wonder how well the 35mm lines on the new CV 28/35 mini finder would cover the 40mm field? In the R and R2 the finder lines only cover @85% of the field of view, which would put the 35mm lines pretty close to a full 40mm view.
