Nice shots Simon. I agree with the other comments that the Summaron is a wonderful, underrated lens. Had mine cleaned by Sherry Krauter and it's now a gem.

I found a dremel tool makes the job unbelievably smoother. A file might have some difficulty in taking off a small length of the mount which is all that is needed to bring up the 35mm framelines.
 
Simon. Excellent shots as usual. My shot is no where near as good as yours, but same lens on the M2. I estimated these settings and certainly isn't the lens or camera's fault for any shortcomings in this photo:

not sure about the prices. I got mine in a sweet deal where I ended up with a free summaron, a free 50 collapsible cron and an extra 200€ or so. :angel:
 
ps: I think I have seen the un-goggled version for 200€ and a little less, but that was here in germany. don't know the prices over in the US.
 
i paid $250 Bob for mine. I believe mine is 1951? (#886xxx). Came with the bubble case and leica front cap. pretty much mint. I think those prices are high. There is one for sale in the classifieds :)
 
He's saying your photos would have been just as good with a 50$ Jupiter-12, for instance ;) And he's right.
 
My take is all this praise will increase prices for Summarons.

I just picked up a Summaron myself and yes, they are quite nice. :)

So while I agree that lenses don't make the photo in general, I have a feeling the J12 version would have a lot more flare. :)

Or at least the 2 LTM J12s I've used have both had significant flare issues. Maybe there is a fix. I don't know.
