My Focomat 1C cleaned up very well. After spending $250 on the enlarger and a re-wire job it works beautifully. The autoocus really works!!!I'm so jazzed about the prints I made this past weekend. The Schneider Componon performs great. Better contrast than the Rodenstock I used at school. So the enlarger needs three non-essential parts to be complete. I thought I'd shop around for them so I could spruce it up a bit.
I found Glennview camera who appears very knowledable on Focomat matters and has plenty of enlargers, parts, etc. This what I got back:
"Chrome set screw: Yes. From an older head. Darkened presently. May
or may not clean up. $50
Red filter: Yes. W/o hardware, $125. With hardware, $200 (clean
hardware from my Mint 1c. I will then make new hardware for that
enlarger. Will take months and much hassle.)
Locating stop complete: Yes. $150."
I dunno...$50 for a rusty old screw seems a little high to me.....think I could find a mint one for $75? (sarcasm intended).

That is a Leitz screw. (You can read that anyway you like.)

No red dot on the screw. But apparently, the seller sees a mark on my forehead!!
