A must have camera !

They are sweet cameras. Fit it with a 6x9 back, who would be better than you?

Lets see, even if you sell your Leica and Xpan stuff you still may need a couple extra $ to get an Alpa kit. That would be an impressive addition to your stable though if you could pull it off. Do you have an extra car you sell?

These are very nice cameras, almost a piece if art in themselves. Roger Hicks briefly discusses them in his book "Rangefinder" (I think). Go ahead, you deserve it!

Actually the house is killing me now. I bought anotherone and have not been able to sell the old one. Once I do and recover, I may consider losing the Xpan and getting the alpa. Afetr all, I have to 30mm which is worth some $'s.

From his Rangefinder book, I recall Roger Hicks uses one of these Alpas and enthused about it. But it strikes me as a very limited camera focused (tongue in cheek here because it has no focus aid) on a narrow usage. Should be great for landscapes!

Thats why I am interested. Living in the NorthWest and having all this natural scenery makes me want to have one of these.

Where in the Northwest are you? Did you make it to the Puyallup Camera show? If you had introduced yourself to me, I would have gladly "given" you the money for the ALPA....

That *IS* beautiful. Art and engineering meet.

There goes my day. I'll just sit here and stare at it for a few more minutes.

Thanks!

Send me your mailing address, and I'll send you a print.

Russ, I meant: That *IS* a beautiful camera. Art and engineering meet.

Your shots are fantastic, but man, that Alpa does something for me.

It's not just me, I showed the non-photog guys at work and the response was a unanimous "whoa".

Something about exotic machinery...

Get a Graflex Crown Graphic 4x5 camera! Can be found cheap on Ebay..l I don`t use mine much, but everytime I get slides back from it, I`m amazed of the quality of the 4x5 slide....

That hurts! It'll be a long time until I recover from that one. And I actually thought that I was getting a compliment on a photo......

Just kiddin' bro. What'ya been shooting lately?

I work in Portland. I'm there 5-7 days a week. Let me know if you want to wander the streets, and do some street shooting. It's a great town for street and people shooting. The girlfriend is working on a gallery showing. She thinks I should exhibit my "Portland Street Life" endeavor's...
