The Fuji film rep was in the store today and mentioned that Fuji has just developed a new RF, all he seemed sure of was that it shoots 135mm and it has a 28mm lens. When I asked him to find me one to try out he said he's not sure it will be available in North America.
He says all the info was in Japanese so he couldn't read it.
Has anyone else heard of this new beasty?

Yes, it info about it was posted on Pnet and here a week or so ago. I searched and found no formal info on the Fuji website, and all the info posted that I saw was in Japanese. Is it a RF though? It may be a high end P&S.

'Got $800 in your pocket? I can think of at least 25 other cameras that make better sense than this one. What were they thinking?

I think this is what you are looking for. I'm sure something like this was sold as a Rollei a couple of years ago!!

Judging by the little "keyhole"slots either side of the lens, I'd say there were accessory filter/hood available.

It's amazing to me that a manufacturer can spare the resources for a camera with such a limited market.
When I read the topic, I was thinking a new MF rangefinder.

Yes, it does look like a Rollei AFM 35. I have one which I am thinking about selling at the moment and I do not think I I will be selling it for anything near the $700 that Fuji are looking for.

This camera was discussed a bit in this thread: http://rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30232&page=3&highlight=Fuji+Natura
I am sure that Fuji is hoping that it gains a cult status like the Natura S has

Pherdinand

I was hoping medium format too, from the title.

Exposing since 1969.
Here's the picture from Fuji. Boy their web page for this camera loaded very slow, even on our fast network!
It looks like a largish point and shoot, compared to a Ricoh GR-1. At 123mm/4.84inches wide it gets close to the width of an M camera's 138mm/5.43 inches wide, though at less than half the weight (with lens) at 270g/0.595lb.
I'm not tempted since I just spent a wad on getting the superlative 28mm/2.8 Elmarit-M ASPH, which makes a Leica M7 pretty tiny seeming.
