Nick's shots show that barrel-distortion is really not an issue with this lens.

I'm not sure about this one.
Among Nick's pictures, I see only one that could be affected by distortion (the one with the window), and it is indeed well behaved.
OTOH, on Huff's review you can see a clear example of distortion with the lens.
It may be better than others, but it doesn't seem distortion free.

Tks for sharing those photos and the interesting narrative.
I didn't find the 50/1.5 images very crisp. Reminded me more of retro drawing. Hardly comparative, in my mind, to the 50 Lux Asph or my 50 Lux pre. As a wide aperture lens Id like to see what it can do wide open and under low light conditions.
On the 21/1.8, these photos look much crisper than the 50mm. Fairly sharp images. Id like to see what f/1.8 can deliver wide open under fleeting light. Dont know how much it costs however sounds like a great option.
