About this time last year I posted a similar thread in various forums, and I found it interesting to hear from you all about the amount of film that we used in the year just ended; so, there we go again: how much film did you shoot in 2009?

Let me start saying that this year I shoot MORE film than in 2008; as well, I kept better record of the film I used, so my statistics are as follow:

35 mm: 185 rolls

48 x Neopan 1600
46 x Kodak Tri-X
40 x Eastman 5222 Double-X
26 x Kodak Plus-X
23 x Arista Premium 100
2 x Ilford Pan F 50

---

120 mm: 35 rolls

17 x Ilford Pan F 50
8 x Kodak Tri-X 400
6 x Ilford HP5
4 x Ilford Delta 3200

--

3 x unknown old color 127 film

So, let's hear it from you all film shooters!! :D

In 35 mm I shot 300 rolls of Arista Premium 400, 120 rolls of Arista Premium 100, 40 rolls of Delta 3200, 40 rolls of TMZ and 5 rolls of Acros.

In 120 I shot 20 rolls of Neopan 400, 10 rolls of Acros and my last 10 rolls of APX 25.

This year I'm only shooting Arista Premium 400 and hope to shoot more than a roll a day.

Roughly 20 rolls of 135-36 per month which makes 240 rolls  ... but only very few rolls 120 last year ...

oh boy!

I did not keep tabs as thorough as you did Vieri.

Think I shot >100 rolls of 135, and some 20 in 120.

This year definitely will be a lot more 120, since I'm getting into the 6x9 game :)
Also a lot more 135, since I sold the M8.

Over 100, probably about 150. Mostly C41 color, Kodacolor 200 and Kodacolor 400. I'm down on Fujicolro as RITZ went under. I pick up the film and BJ's and Walmart, process at Sam's Club. I was really shocked when Kodak pulled out of the film processing business.

I guess I'm only mildly addicted. I think I used about 30 rolls of 135 , mainly Adox 100 and Kodak BW400CN. And perhaps 5 to 10 rolls of 120 film.

Vieri - deja vu.

  • 73 x Adox/Efke CHS ART 25
  • 214 x Agfa APX 100
  • 47 x Eastman Double-X
  • 106 x Fomapan 100 Classic
  • 215 x Kodak Plus-X
  • 371 x Kodak Tri-X

For this year I am just shooting with Double-X exclusively, so next years figure will be in feet/metres. :p

While the M8 has been at the menders, I've shot more film in the past two weeks than all of 2009 (39 rolls of 120 Provia 400X and 8 rolls of 120 HP5+).

And. I do get a weirdly pleasant feeling having some exposed rolls to show for my snapping.

So how many keepers? :p

I think I shot about 200 rolls of film ... ninety percent of which would have been 35mm.

What about the large format boys and girls ... how many sheets? :D

Since starting to use film again in August some where around 30 rolls of 35mm and 60 rolls of medium format.

I didn't use my LF... I didn't use my digital... I didn't shoot too much, maybe less than 100 rolls of 35 and 120 together: Tri-X, Neopan1600, APX100, PanF50+, Efke25, Kodachrome64, Astia&Sensia, Ektar100, Portra800... Not too many keepers and no trips.

Why do I feel it was the year I've enjoyed the most?

Oh, yes, I discovered RFF and got my first rangefinders!

MPerson, your website is really well put together and your shots are great - compliments!

I am not organised well enough to reel off my film count..
I estimate about 40 rolls. mix of APX100, ADOX CHS 50, neopan 400cn, fomapan 100 and 400, XP2 super and mixture of colour negative rolls in the summer. Neopan 400cn, fomapan and ADOX CHS 50 were new to me for 2009, as was self development!

Neopan 400CN is quite nice!

I don't know exactly. A lot. Well I thought it was a lot until I popped on here!

  • I shot probably 20-30 rolls of black and white 35mm, not much 120 until the end of the year as I got my Autocord at the end of December so I shot 6 rolls of B&W 120.

    Various, mostly HP5+/Tri-X or FP4+
  • About 35 rolls of Kodachrome 64
  • About 5 rolls of EBX
  • 5 160VC
  • 1 Velvia 100F
  • Some Velvia 50
  • 1 roll of Provia 100F
  • 5-10 rolls of Ektar 100
  • A couple of rolls of Reala
  • 5 rolls of 800Z
That's about it. The 160VC and Reala was the remnants before I switched to Ektar fully for my slow-ish C41 colour neg and indeed when my supply of KR64 is done, it'll be mostly Ektar from there on in as well.

The Provia I use for colour night shots (no adjustment needed until 2mins exposure!)

Not as many as some but I have produced quite a lot of photos from it, including 60% of a book I'll publish later this year. So pretty good all in all :)

So how many keepers? :p:D

Keith - one man's keeper etc. etc. Someone will probably find them all fascinating in 100 years or so. ;)

"tritiated" - many thanks for the mention. I need to get some newer images up and start a Double-X gallery. So many images, so little time......

As I only started using film again at the beginning of November - about 8 rolls of 120 Delta 400 and about 6 rolls of 135 Delta 100 and 400. About 1000 digital.
